Tips
- Sell weeks, not clicks. A weekly price is simple for both sides and you don't carry the risk of a weak ad.
- Small page? Use a floor. Charge a flat $10–25 a week to start, then raise it as views grow.
- Discount the first week. It lets a new brand test you at low risk. Send the results and they book again at full price.
- Always label it. An "Ad" label with the brand's name, and rel="sponsored" on the link.
Questions
How do I calculate a sponsorship rate?
Weekly views = monthly visits ÷ 30 × 7. Weekly price = weekly views ÷ 1,000 × CPM. 10,000 monthly visits at a $40 CPM is about $93, so list $90 a week.
What CPM should I use?
Published newsletter benchmarks run from about $10 to $75 per 1,000 views. Software and AI audiences sit near $40, finance around $35, lifestyle around $20 and local audiences around $15.
What if my audience is small?
Use a flat minimum of $10–25 a week instead of tiny CPM maths, then raise the price as your views grow. Offer the first week at a discount to win a first sponsor.
Should I charge per click or per week?
Per week. A weekly price is simple for both sides and doesn't make you carry the risk of a weak ad. Report clicks at the end so the brand books again.
