For video editors

A personal page for video editors

Clients hiring a video editor decide in the first fifteen seconds of your reel. Your page should get them to that reel in one tap, then answer turnaround, price and which software you cut in.

Looks to start from

Noir or Spotlight: cinematic, dark, built for video. Ivo can restyle any of them to your colours.

Where editing clients come from

Video editors find work through YouTubers' Discord servers and X posts, agency referrals, freelance marketplaces and LinkedIn. Whatever the source, the client clicks one link and asks: can this person cut my kind of video, how fast, for how much? Most editors make them hunt across a Google Drive folder, a Vimeo account and an Instagram grid to find out.

Your page should get them to your reel in one tap, then answer turnaround and price before they think to ask.

Reels by format, not one long mix

A creator looking for a YouTube editor wants to see retention-driven long-form: pacing, pattern interrupts, sound design. A brand wants a 30-second ad with clean colour. A documentary producer wants story structure. One reel can't serve all of them. Make a 60 to 90-second reel for each format you want more of, with your best cut in the first ten seconds.

Under each, add the context a client cares about: the channel or brand, the format, your role (edit, colour, motion, sound) and a result if you have one, like "average view duration up from 38% to 51%" for a YouTube client who let you share it.

Unreleased and NDA work

Some of your best work is under embargo or belongs to an agency. On featurd, mark that section private: it never appears on your public page and only shows to people you send a tracked link to. You can show a prospective client the unreleased cut without posting it publicly, and see when they've watched it.

Always check your contract or ask the client before showing their footage, even privately.

Your featurd setup

An example page

Dev Malhotra edits for tech YouTubers from Hyderabad. His page uses Noir, so his reels glow against black. A 75-second long-form reel opens the page, followed by a shorts reel. "Selected channels" lists five creators with subscriber counts and the retention lift he helped get. Three offers follow, then two Trust-verified quotes, a free LUT pack and a project form.

When he pitches a creator, he sends a tracked link. Seeing the link opened on a phone at 11pm tells him the creator is interested; he follows up the next morning with a sample edit of their latest video.

Packaging your offer for creators

YouTube creators think in videos per week, not hours. Offer packages that match: "4 long-form edits a month, 48-hour turnaround, two rounds of revisions". Say what you need from them, like raw footage, a script or a reference video, and how drafts are shared. A small free sample, such as a 60-second re-edit of their latest video's opening, is often the pitch that wins the retainer; send it with a tracked link and follow up when it's opened.

Mistakes that lose editing clients

Show the before and after

A short split-screen clip of raw footage next to your final cut shows your contribution better than any description. It answers the question clients rarely ask aloud: how much of this was the editor?

Questions

How long should a video editing showreel be?

Under 90 seconds, with your strongest cut in the first ten. Make separate short reels for different formats, like YouTube long-form and short-form ads, rather than one long mix.

Can I embed my videos on featurd?

Yes. YouTube players are free on every plan and load only when tapped, so the page stays fast. Vimeo and other trusted embeds work through the embed section.

How do I show client work I can't post publicly?

Mark the section private. It's shown only to people you send a tracked link to, so a prospective client sees the unreleased cut and the public never does.
