For accountants

A personal page for accountants

Small businesses and individuals pick an accountant they believe will keep them out of trouble. Your page should show what you handle, who you handle it for, your registration and how quickly you respond.

Why clients switch accountants

People rarely change accountants because of price. They switch because the last one missed a deadline, didn't reply during filing season, or couldn't explain a notice. When they look for a new one, usually through a referral, a Google search after a scare or a startup community, they're looking for signs you'll be responsive and that you understand their situation.

Your page should show who you serve, what you handle and how you work with clients, in language a non-accountant understands.

Specialise in a client, not just a service

"Tax and accounting services" describes every firm in the city. "Tax and compliance for freelancers and NRIs, filed on time with a WhatsApp update at every step" describes a practice someone wants to hire. Name the clients you know best: startups raising their first round, doctors with a clinic, e-commerce sellers juggling GST across states, US expats with FBAR filings. Then list the services for them.

Professional rules on advertising

Accountancy bodies restrict how members promote themselves. In India, ICAI's code of ethics restricts advertising and solicitation by chartered accountants, while permitting websites within its guidelines, so keep the page factual and avoid promotional or comparative claims. In the US, state boards of accountancy regulate the use of the CPA title and prohibit false or misleading advertising; firm names and "CPA" use have their own rules. In the UK, ICAEW and ACCA members follow their bodies' codes on publicity.

We're not giving regulatory advice; check your body's current guidance before you publish. A featurd page can be kept strictly factual: services, qualifications, contact details and fees where allowed.

Your featurd setup

An example page

CA Neha Agarwal runs a two-person practice in Ahmedabad for freelancers and NRIs. Her page uses Ink: crisp type, a navy accent. The headline reads "Tax and compliance for freelancers and NRIs, without the chasing". Below, two columns cover freelancers (ITR, advance tax, GST registration) and NRIs (DTAA, capital gains, repatriation). An offers section gives starting fees. A free "Freelancer tax calendar 2026-27" collects emails, and a subscribe box promises a reminder a week before each deadline. Her ICAI membership number sits at the bottom.

In July, she sends prospective clients a tracked link after their enquiry, and calls the ones who open it twice.

Use the calendar to stay top of mind

Accounting has the most predictable calendar of any profession: advance tax, GST returns, TDS, ITR deadlines in India; quarterly estimates and April filing in the US. Turn it into a reason for people to come back. A free deadline calendar as a product, a subscribe section for reminders, and a short FAQ that you update each season keep prospects returning until they're ready to switch.

When a prospect enquires after a tax notice, speed matters more than anything. featurd notifies you of new leads, and on Pro, Autopilot can send an instant acknowledgement with what documents to gather, so they don't keep calling other firms while you're in a meeting.

Small details that earn trust

Explain your onboarding

Switching accountants feels like admin. List the four steps on your page: a discovery call, a document checklist, access to your client portal, and the first filing or month-end close. It removes the friction that keeps people with an accountant they don't like.

Questions

Can chartered accountants advertise in India?

ICAI's code of ethics restricts advertising and solicitation by members, while allowing websites within its guidelines. Keep your page factual, avoid comparative or promotional claims, and check ICAI's current guidance before publishing.

Should accountants show fees?

Indicative fees for routine work ("Individual ITR from ₹2,500") help people self-select. For advisory and audit, explain how you quote instead.

Can clients send documents through featurd?

No, and they shouldn't. Use featurd for enquiries and bookings, and your practice software or secure portal for documents.
