The best link in bio for freelancers in 2026: seven tools, honestly compared

Most "best link in bio" lists are written for influencers. Freelancers need something different: a page that convinces a stranger to hire them, takes the booking, and doesn't take a cut of the fee. We make featurd, so weigh our view accordingly, but every competitor fact below was checked on the vendor's own site or help pages on 21 October 2026, and where we couldn't confirm a number we say so.

What a freelancer's link actually needs

Before comparing tools, agree on the job. A freelancer's link in bio has to do five things:

  • Show proof: two or three projects with the client's result, not just a grid of thumbnails.
  • Signal price and availability, so the wrong clients self-select out.
  • Take a booking or a brief without an email chain.
  • Get paid, for fixed-scope offers, without a platform cut.
  • Tell you who's interested, so you follow up at the right moment.

Linktree

Linktree is the default for a reason: it's simple, reliable and integrates with almost everything. For freelancers, its weakness is that it's a list of links. It doesn't hold case studies well, and selling on lower tiers carries a seller fee. Third-party reviews of Linktree's pricing page in October 2026 report 12% on Free, 9% on Starter and 0% only on Premium, with Pro listed inconsistently, so check linktr.ee/s/pricing for your country. Good for: freelancers whose clients come from social and just need a route to a portfolio elsewhere. See Linktree alternatives.

Beacons

Beacons is a creator platform with a store, media kit and email. Per its help centre, the Free and $10 Creator plans charge 9% on sales; Creator Plus ($30 a month) and Creator Max ($90) charge 0%. Strong for creator-freelancers who do brand deals. Less suited to B2B clients who want case studies. Our Beacons comparison.

Stan

Stan is a paid store for courses, coaching and digital products: Creator at $29 a month and Creator Pro at $99, with a 14-day trial, no free plan and 0% Stan fee. Excellent if you sell productised offers to an audience with funnels. Overkill if you mostly sell your time to clients. Our Stan comparison.

Carrd

Carrd is a cheap one-page site builder: free to start, Pro Lite $9 a year, Pro Standard from $19 with a custom domain. Unbeatable on price and design control, but you write and design everything and bolt on booking and payment tools yourself. Our Carrd comparison.

Contra and marketplace profiles

Contra, Upwork and Fiverr profiles help clients find you and handle contracts and payment. They also own the relationship, and on most of them you pay a fee per job. Keep one for discovery and link it from a page you own; send repeat and referred clients to your own page.

Topmate

Popular in India for paid calls and sessions. No subscription; per its pricing page, Topmate takes 10% of sales through your own link and 20% of sales it brings through its marketplace. Good if paid calls are your main offer and you want the marketplace's buyers. featurd vs Topmate.

featurd

featurd is built around the freelancer's five jobs above. Ivo drafts your page from your LinkedIn, resume, site or Linktree in about a minute: services, projects with outcomes, experience and reviews. Bookings sync with Google Calendar. Free downloads work on every plan; paid products are on Pro through your own Stripe or Razorpay with 0% to featurd. Tracked links tell you when a specific prospect opened your page (time, device, country), and optional follow-up nudges keep warm leads from going cold. On Pro, a Message me chat lets visitors ask questions, with Ivo drafting replies.

What it doesn't have: funnels, upsells, a newsletter tool or a marketplace that sends you clients. The free plan has one page and a small featurd badge; Pro adds your own domain and more. Pick from 32 looks in Explore or describe your own.

How to choose in two minutes

  • Clients come from Instagram and you sell nothing directly: Linktree's free plan is fine.
  • You do brand deals and want a newsletter: Beacons.
  • You sell courses with funnels: Stan.
  • You love designing and want the lowest price: Carrd.
  • You sell paid calls in India and want marketplace buyers: Topmate.
  • Clients need to see proof, book you and pay you, and you want to know when they looked: featurd.

Whatever you pick

Lead with one sentence about what you do and for whom, show your best three projects with outcomes, show a starting price, and make the next step a single button. That page beats a fancier one with none of it. Our role page for freelancers has a checklist.
